Mraxl not running premix. running oil from stock pump. timing is set at stock position. as per www.3cyl.com/mraxl/manuals/maint/section7.htm#late using dial indicator method as a friend borrowed my timing light. Walms, Yeah i couldn't think of anything else to do with the KBC catalog as the vast majority of their stuff is cheap crap but anyway that's another topic. ta Jules

Set timing with a strobe before you think about carb jetting. Pilot=30 Clip=#4 Main=105-107.5

Hey Jules, You saw my bike run at Cayuga, I've got H1A cyls but with KA6 carbs. All the brass hardware besides the main is stock as shown on mraxls resource site. 30 pilot 102.5 main 4th clip position

so here is the setup. adjusted timing with timing light, synched carbs using uni-syn. 30 clip 4 105
Made a huge difference and runs well on throttle. thanks for the advice guys.
I do have an issue though and i think its gearing / wheel size thing.... i think. taking off in first it wants to bog down and i get some air resonance coming out the inlet of the carbs. i can ride around it by revving and popping clutch a little which is kind of fun but far from ideal. the front sprocket is 15 and the rear is 44. also running 17" rear wheel. This is a drop in torque of 2.3% from stock. at first i thought this might be the cause but i find it hard to believe 2.3% is enough to cause this bog situation. Is it geared so close to the limit? another thought. I didn't have the WTF exhaust manifolds and pipes siliconed so the seal was not perfect. I siliconed today but will not have time to test until tomorrow. could this be the cause or just a contributing factor?
yeah king of dumb questions i know but i know you guys will go easy on me.
thanks jules.

Your pilot might be too small, try turning in the air screws a 1/2 turn at a time to see if that helps. And you might need to raise the needles also.

Set your timing at 25deg and that will help.

Little update. Turning in the pilot helped a little but 25 degrees helped a shit load! Thanks Ja Moo and Mraxl So what would happen if I go to 26 degrees? By advancing what am I really achieving or more to the point what are the risks? Would this change increase chance of deto?
Thanks Jules
