I really like the look. It's great to see the work of a creative person!

I am Officially high jacking this thread!!
Since I got into these bikes my brother has started to take interest and told me to keep my eyes open for a good project bike. When Gary posted about selling his S2 I immediately contacted my brother and before the hour was up, a deal was made.
So this past weekend I drove up to Ottawa to meet up with Gary and relieve him of his burden. I couldn't have asked for a nicer day or greater guy to get the bike from than Gary. Besides building the bike in his basement (I'll get to that part) he was an absolute rock star. It was obvious the amount of pride he takes in his work as he was eager to show me all the cool little details he added to customize the S2.
So... how to get a fully assembled S2 out of a basement where the only path of egress is through a narrow staircase with a 90 degree bend part way up... Out came the wrenches and Gary and I started to pull the bike apart. 1st came the seat,, then the tank, then the cables...Then the headlight bulb, disconnected all of the electrical, pulled the top clamp off and removed the whole front end in 1 giant assembly.
With the help of Gary's buddy we man handled the bike up the stairs, around the bend and out onto the driveway where a short while late it was back on 2 wheels and ready to be loaded into the trailer for the long ride home.
Long story short..my brother owes me BIG TIME!!
I'll keep this thread updated with anything progress made on the bike.

Not toooo much work as been done besides some reassembly. But... I did come across a beautiful NOS tank (besides 1 big dent) so this black beauty will have a facelift this year.

After some TLC new life was breathed back into the tail. Not perfect, but for a "budget build", she'll (or he'll) do the trick

Did some more work over the weekend. Was hoping to get the pipes on but hit a few snags. The oil tank was empty but the lines were full....on a motor that's never been started.. hmmm Swapped out the tails and front dust seals with "traditional" style. Checked cylinder 1...full of oil. Ended up pulling all 3 off and each one was filled past the base gasket. Also found the sprockets to be different sizes (chain sizes..not tooth size lol) so I'm waiting on a new 530 rear to come in. We decided to keep the matt theme throughout the bike so the black fender will stay black and the new bars are also black. THEN...we can mount the pipes swap bars and fire her up!!

Been picking away on a few details on the bike. Getting really close to starting it up now. Stupid me cut the chain 1 link too short... so that put a halt to a few of the larger things on my checklist. I'm hesitant to post an overall photo at this stage as I want to reveal in a video.
