Very nice job Soup. Thoes rotors I've had trouble with in the past. Even though they pass the resistance tests, they still may not work properly. Let me know if you need anything, I work at a Honda shop so I have direct contact with Honda Canada I also now work at a Honda dealership that happens to be pretty awesome for old parts being in stock... Mark if you need Pm me the Vin and I can see if we have one NOS on the shelf. Also, Mark. Is this the 10 speed version ? This is the 5 speed "Super Sport" version, the 10 speed is shaft drive & more of a touring bike. Got the bug to do a bit more work on it this weekend, I do have a somewhat bizarre issue with the starter though, for some reason despite a brand new battery the solenoid just clicks when I hit the start button. But the really bizarre thing is that the clutch cable starts heating up! It's obviously carrying a really big current but how the hell can that happen? I'm stumped on this at the moment. I disconnected the cable at the lever end & now the solenoid does not energise, clearly the clutch cable is part of the circuit but WTF? Anyway here are a few pics of progress, I still need to purchase & install new decals on the gas tank, I just can't live with the ones I already installed, less than perfect both in the installation & placement, fml. Carbs were cleaner than a Cat's A$$, this is the only "dirty" one, lol.. Airbox & carbs were a complete bugger to install despite new inlet stubs, re-fitting the throttle cables was a total nightmare, took me 3 hours... A few general pics. It will have a little bit of class, I modified an old KH400 grab rail, something for Alex to hold onto while booting along.. SoupD.

The start button works backwards, all it does is create a ground. Your clutch cable is most likely becoming the ground now. Check your engine to frame ground strap

I'd bolted the engine end of the ground strap to another frame bolt, what a Fukcing idiot... Engine cranks over like a champ now.. Cheers Curtis. SoupD.

So have you had the maiden voyage yet ? Not yet, I still have work to do on the gas tank, just ordered the replacement decal set a couple of days ago. However, I did fire up the motor yesterday, it started right up after getting the carbs primed. Idle is perfect & no noises except the obligatory chatter from the clutch basket. Sounds nice & strong too, nice baritone sound from the V&H 4 into 1 pipe SoupD.

Got my new decals in record time, 2 days from hitting "pay now".. Just put them on the tank today, I'm finally happy with the positioning, a couple of very small Fkups, I'll just have to ladle the clearcoat on a bit thicker, lol.. This will be next years ride, the KH is in need of a top end overhaul & maybe a little port work, we'll see.. SoupD.

Nice sunny day, warm & just a gentle breeze, in other words a perfect day in my outdoor spray booth. Got the gas tank finally prepped, washed down, dried & wiped with a tack cloth. Finally ready to get a couple of coats of clear on it, no problem with the first light tack coat, wait 10 minutes & ladle on the final coat &... Godammit! More fish eyes than finding Nemo, FML... Oh well, sand it down again & wait for the next perfect day or maybe just take it to one of the local auto shops, I'm determined to get this sucker done before the end of the month. SoupD.

Hey remember me? Any rumours regarding my demise have been greatly exaggerated, just been taking a break for a while, nobody has offended me, Lol. Been spending some of my off time finishing up the CB900 barge, a big shout out to Donnie for helping out & also setting me up to get the safety done. So now just need to get it registered. Even my insurance company used lube, $667 which is only 90 bucks a year more than the KH400. If you hang out on Facebook you may have already seen most of these pics but for those who have not... BTW, this is my ride for this year, I'm still thrashing the 400 around but the poor thing is starting to show its age & the motor definitely needs to be freshened up to restore the lost zing. See you in Paris.. SoupD.

Is this the 10 speed version ? This is the 5 speed "Super Sport" version, the 10 speed is shaft drive & more of a touring bike. Currently in disgrace for the second time in less than 700Km, rapidly becoming my second "problem child". Two new electro sport rotors, both lasted around 300km, like Alex said to me, "now you know why it has such a low mileage from new". Both the new rotors measured on spec (4.1 ohms) when new, the first one dropped to 0.4 ohms after 350 km, the second one went open circuit after just over 300 km. I fitted a new reg/rec the 2nd time around too, fml. Battery appears to be good, all wiring is good, yada, yada, any suggestions beside dumping it into lake Ontario? SoupD.

What type of battery are you using

What type of battery are you using Yuasa, OE spec.. The place I bought the rotors from suggested the battery may be faulty, been trying to get my head around how a bad battery could screw up the rotor.. SoupD.

No. A bad rotor will screw up the battery. Your rotor is wound in Y series, not delta, which is good. Delta puts out high amperage low voltage which a AGM battery will not accept.
