So, Alex says to me "I think we have a Gremlin living in the Garage, every time you bring a new bike home he takes it apart & leaves it for you to put back together". ;D Good job he found this though.. Someone did a really nasty hack & slash splicing job, the only nasty part so far SoupD.

looks like something I would do. I can't turn my KH off no more. It's got wiring issues. I guess there is worse things than a bike that won't quit, eh!

Well, I guess that wiring issue was more serious than I thought.. Just my obsessive compulsive desire to take things apart I guess SoupD.

Alex? You have to be kidding me, she sits in her comfy chair in the corner of the garage pointing out the flaws in my quest for perfection. That motor took most of the day to get cleaned up & masked off, if I was going for a high standard I'd have stripped it down to paint it, but this one is going to be a daily rider, lol. I used a combination of paint brushes, wire brushes, wet/dry abrasive paper, Valspar to degrease, & finally brushed all over with lacquer thinner. Duplicolor satin black high heat paint to finish it off. I'll be removing the case screws one at a time to polish them, replace & repeat, it will save disturbing the gaskets & having to remove the entire case to replace them.. I'll check valve clearances prior to replacing the nice silver painted cam cover. I'm pretty much done with prepping all the bits & pieces, just need to blast the frame, paint it & start re-assembly. SoupD.

I have the same bike, same project, same monstrous pile of work ahead of me. You appear to have considerably more space to work in than I do though. Did it come with the drilled brake rotors, or did you do that?

MY KZ 750 battery finally gave up a couple of years ago. I debated if I wanted to spend the 15 minutes it would take to put a new battery in. I decided it wasn't worth the time, it was a 4 stroke. It sits gathering dust......
