I want to get it back to the stock condition. Then see what happens and go from there. All we hear is that the aftermarket kits suck.

are the coil wires twist in Dave, like a B coil, or an h1A? If so, I'd twist them out, cut off 1/4 inch and crank them back it tight. Do both ends. Sled engines are famous for corrosion here, a very common issue with these connections

Do you have an H1 still? Clamp the carbs on and try it quick

I mean carb. If you think it may be a carb issue. Just try it

its gotta hurt when you crank em in, then the compression fitting thing will seal the deal. Use a little dielectric grease on the treaded screw-post thing too. good luck buddy, something has to give.

yeah, something has to. i found some correct needles so we'll see what happens there. I also found coils that will be next in line. wires and plug caps fall in there too.

I am off this week so I re-checked the timing and it was dead on. Decided to take it for a ride around my block. 5 miles. it still bogs a bit in first and second over about 4700 rpm but I had never taken it any further through the gears. well, it certainly doesn't bog in 3rd, 4th and 5th. revs right up to the redline and goes like crazy. wow, what a fun little monster. Light and handles great.

Dave, my s2 was doing the same thing for the longest time, boggy in first/second, but seemed fine in the rest, was the carbs, dicked around with jetting some, nows seems to work fine. Carbs are a pain as you very well know, but you`ll get it sorted I`m sure. Bring her to the Tub, we`ll all have a go at her.
