they're a cast frame, special banana?? paper, cloth surround, Japanese made fullrange driver from the 70's s3steve. The usual multiple driver speakers everyone's familiar with have crossovers(consists of resistors, capacitors, coils) to split up the frequencies and send the signal to each specific driver.... purists lol believe the lack of crossover helps aid in truer sound reproduction... similarly these are highly sensitive meaning they require very little power, 3-5 watts, to play loudly. Whereas traditional speakers need 20-250 watts... they're very special speakers

Yes, very nice! Also interesting,... Nice to see the old stuff reconditioned. I'm not really an audiophile but enjoy music. A buddy of mine is hardcore! So much in fact, he poured a concrete pillar from his basement, thru the first floor to house his turntable. I did the same thing when I did my basement reno. Concrete supports for the speakers, also concrete supports for the gear support. SoupD.

Latest active 3D 1080P projector creation with 10 year old speakers and 5.1 amp. Good enough for government work though. Pulling ceiling HDMI and power wires was the worst part of the job. Walls could stand to be a bit darker but I have others to deal with. LOL

S3steve, my tube amps take the edge off the corals highs and the 15" eminence add just what I wanted bass wise as I can dial them up or down via a separate amp I've got hooked to them. I also swapped the Chinese tubes out for a quad of $600 GEC's I was savin!!!!
