I thought I would start a thread for audio equipment. I got this SX750 on the weekend in working order, but the "wood" case was destroyed. I made one and it turned out pretty good. I still have to sand, stain it and varnish.

Yes, very nice! Also interesting,... Nice to see the old stuff reconditioned. I'm not really an audiophile but enjoy music. A buddy of mine is hardcore! So much in fact, he poured a concrete pillar from his basement, thru the first floor to house his turntable.

rz350ypvs, here is a site that has all kinds of gear for sale, but these guys are audio guys so it's unlikely you'll get a kijiji type deal for $20bux... but at least you can get an idea on prices of things and you can drool over the gear!!! www.canuckaudiomart.com/classifieds/all/

looks fantastic!! when I pick up a nice vintage piece she gets stripped down, blown out, wiped cleaned, sometimes transformer wax and polish, all controls cleaned with deoxit 5... the only thing you wanna stay away from is the tuning capacitor (don't spray cleaner or lube on this), it's the multi-finned rotating bladed piece that turns when adj the tuning knob check here for a good cleaning guide; www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=173470I gotta edit for something extremely important, EVERY amp/receiver NEEDS to be checked for DC Offset before being put to use... it's a basic electrical test to determine the general overall "health" of an amplifier, see here for echowars tutorial; www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5634

I bought some ElectroVoice 12TRXb speakers and built some boxes. My dad has the 15trx's and still had the box plans that included my speakers.
