Picked up this little gem from Bolly today... Fires! Needs a piston, cylinder looks good, only has 90 PSI however the head gasket is bitched... Looks like she will be a runner, has been dropped before, but nothing a bit of elbow grease and a hammer won't buff out Have the parts list for work tomorrow, pipe is off in preparing for the new expansion chamber plans and awaiting larger carb....

The pan looks to be decent I can get my upholstery guy to re foam and cover it.
Head gasket mating surfaces all cleaned up, cylinder needs a bore, out of round. But still stock size so first over bore and clean/open the ports up slightly while doing it

m.youtube.com/watch?v=d9n6do0__RsAnyone else interested in building your own pipes this appears to be the poor mans version I will be doing for this bike... H1R style low pipe with stinger brought into the belly The bike will stay visually the same, the only difference would be the pipe, handle bars and the seat will be the same shape only lower foam

7800 on the ODO and I am going to assume the reason it was parked was due to cold seizure... Mr Walms is on it for G3 cylinder specs to see if I can do an easy swap over to G3 top end, give me more options plus some better porting to get a bit more than 7.8 hp at 7000 rpm.... We are aiming for 12-14

NOS on the shelf first over piston, rings, clips I don't trust a 45 year old needle bearing so I subbed it up for a new one... Cylinder getting bored tomorrow on the machine here at work and ports getting cleaned up/opened up

Carb all gone through, needle and seat on order direct from Mikuni, I will be swapping it to bigger carb this winter, this will be just to make it run and assess rest of bike.
Also ordered a new set of handlebars, going to lathe up some aluminum bushings for the stock risers since the rubber ones are completely rotten
Priced out some tires for it, Michelin scooter tires, decent price so they will be getting ordered in a week or so once the engine is back together and running.
The major parts needed now are: Throttle cable Clutch cable
And I may have them in stock too....

Finished my bore today, slightly enlarged transfer ports and good clean up, de carboned everything, set my clearance at 0.0016" Wrist pin/bearing will be here in the morning, tomorrow night will be assembled and hopefully fired up before the young lad goes to bed.
First ever bore job by myself. Glad it was my own cylinder incase I messed it up! Ha ha ha
