Hope you didn't sneeze from the dust when you opened your wallet. I'm glad to see you still have the S3.

Here`s some pics of my recent progress, dual disc conversion, using all oem parts, and the under seat document pouch, home made replica of an original, turned out not too bad, couldn`t find an original in usable condition. The dually conversion I decided to do only because I had the all the parts, except a spedo gear assembly. The s2 gear doesn`t have the proper offset for the cable to clear the disc. I`m hoping I`ll be able to incorporate an H/Z series gear assembly, Zambia has offered me one, Thanx much.

I bent my S3 speedo cable at the metallic bottom end to clear my disk.Works great, just bend it slow and it should work.I also have a spare document pouch if you're interested.

Hi, thanx for the offer, maybe latter on after Christmas, it`s kind-of bottomed out my budget right now. I thought about bending the cable end, but I was a little leery about interfereing with the cables ability to move freely. Definitely the option if the alternate speedo gear assembly won`t work. There always seems to be some thing to keep mods from moving smoothly. The speedo grear`s possition didn`t even dawn on me when I was trying to think this mod through.

Made a little progress since last post, brakes are set up, front fender painted and installed(after market plastic), modified the speedo cable(thanx roadrash) and I scored a very decent set of what I believe to be vintage denco`s, they`re old, only a couple dents probably from laying around, I`ll post some pics latter on.
Cheers, keep warm Rick

Another step towards completion, monkey`d around with the ignition today, with success, finally, good solid spark across all cylinders. Hopefully this wknd I`ll see if I can get her running, if so, spring can`t come too soon.
Sat. night, choke, three kicks and she fired right up, filled the shop with smoke, turned out the lights and went to bed. Always a great feeling when the project is successful and real near to completion.

So I think she`s done, re-did the front brake lines(Vanhill) the russels kept leaking) replaced the master with a dual disc repro, solid now. Reinstalled the oil pump, removed dents from the pipes, painted, decal-ed, Opened the shop doors today and fired her up. No leaks, solid uniform pulse from all 3, solid idle after warm up around 9-1000rpm, oil pumps pumping, stink of fresh high heat paint cooking, all electrics function as should. Roads are dry, temps warm in the sun and there 3' of snow barricading may shops front doors. How frustrating is that!! First ride I think will be real soon if this weather holds. It`s been a long 10 months from rust bucket to acceptable. Cheers
