Andrew till I weigh in properly I wont take this as the gospel. What are you weighing in at and is this bike a track only version?

Rear wheel shot 135-136 so bike is hovering around 270 lbs

Weighed front again twice and 133-134 with scale reset to zero each time Weighed the back twice same procedure as above and block of wood under other tire and back weight showed 135-136
Based on 4 times on scales looking for variance in reading I'm pretty sure bike is around 270lbs based on what these scales will offer. I expect the scales to be off from commercial scales by few lbs approx. so I am expecting the bike to land slightly under 275lbs no fuel in tank.
Will update group once I run bike to local scales and get print out to share with pics of bike on scales and ticket it generates.

Lol no funny stuff ...promise guys.. Commercial scales will validate the real weight and method I used today to post these results Areas modified to reduce weight: 1- Premix only all pump lines and tank removed 2- All non essential electrical removed (outside of cdi, coils and kill switch) even removed charge coils 3- NSR250 front end- only one disk and caliber used vs two supplied with front end 4- NSR 250 back end complete with disks and caliper, wheels are scary light guys 5- aluminum rear sets with all other metal frame components (tabs)physically removed from frame(cut and feathered out) 6- Fiberglass tail and fairing 7- 5" of frame (tail) section removed 8- light weight exhaust pipes 9- abs plastic front fender 10- aluminum rear sprocket 11- aluminum perches and levers 12- Mag and chain case covers removed (Waiting on alumin case saver to be completed by machinist 13 - Steering Dampner added

Originally I had considered moving the 400 engine into my nsr250 chassis as it was complete roller less engine and pipes. Now that would have been a wild ride and ultra light vs the KH heavy frame.
The width of the KH engine created to much work for the current frame width and trying to align the sprockets.. then the issue of exhaust being custom made to work with triple in NSR Frame.. I don't mind a project but that was a cost/project more than I wanted to get into.
Frame and shock/linkage went to Ontario.

Another Project I was working on for track last year but got side tracked and eventually sold to drag racer this year who was going to finish my project...
99 Cr250R - Stretched 6" ,clip ons, suspension lowered 8", walker evans rear air shock, street tires on 2001 cr250 rims..
Had bike almost done since this pic just needed body work to cover chassis. That was where I stopped.
always wanted to run MX bike down strip and it was geared for 1/8 mile track..

Great job on the weight saving.I got my H1r to around 300.I forgot the 400 was 25 lbs lighter than the 500 to start with. You have to use wire wheels in vintage racing here so it would not pass tech but makes a sweet street machine.

Thanks Brad. I couldn't believe the weight of the stock wheels and disks...they were solid weight for sure. Can you lace up excel rims to hubs to reduce weight in Ont vintage class?

I'm guessing when you get an accurate weight you will be around 350lbs. Just my guess.

I`m with Moo on the weight, it`ll be a wee bit heavier than you think. The best ball park would be with one scale and a 2x8 long enough the get both wheels on. Balance the plank centered on the scale then roll the bike up on the plank. Helps to have a second set of hands. This way all the weight is on the single scale.
