It looks like you have a little preload adjustment left on the shock.
Maybe try and add a little more, it should raise the rear a little and reduce the sag a bit. That may be just enough for the clearance your looking for.
Give it a try before you make any major changes.

I don't think it would be a problem for Dales's bike, without the suspension link the pipe center pipe would go right thru there. It looks pretty close to where the original center stand was... a bad spot for the pipes. (damn RD's only had 2 pipes eh...) I think the only solution to get more ground clearance would be to move the pipes forward somehow...

Thats a good idea, I will have to try that. I'm not sure if I am even using that shock, it needs a rebuild and I was advised that it wouldn't be worth it. Its a really old WP. I can fit a CBR600f4 shock with a few mods and it will raise the back about an inch.
Actually, you're right. I forgot about that. The linkage mounts are in almost the exact same spot as the center stand brackets. Were you and Don able to keep the center stand with the pipes? I just measured my RD, and with the FPP pipes, its no better.
Hey Don, what gauge steel are you using? 22? Also, thanks for the help.

I deleted my last post. Wasn’t sure what I was rambling on about there... lol
Anyway, if you look at my avatar, you will see the difference between pulling the pipe back as opposed to pushing them forward. When you see the side view, the middle pipe belly is a good 4-5 inches behind the outside pipes. If you push your pipes forward, it will help your situation.

I decided to hold off on building the pipes for now. I took the bike apart so I could paint the frame and all the other stuff. I am working on getting the tank/sidecovers/tail painted. Anyone know a good match for "kawasaki green" ? here are some pics:

looking good,as for your ground clearance issues with the pipes, the wifes ex 500 has only 4 inches of clearance under the lower fairing and it hasn't hit the ground yet. i think you will be okay with the clearance you have. keep up the great work and more pic's as you progress

Mopar Grabber green is real close. I think a bit of bright Yellow added would give a great color.

I was thinking Mopar Sassy grass/Go green or AMC big bad green. When I searched for Grabber, mostly Boss 302s came up. What Mopar was painted this colour?

I saw a newer Dodge in a great kawi green, but I can't find it on the Dodge website. Stop by a auto paint shop and check out a color chart.

Road Warrior on the KTW site matched the kawi green from his dirt bike. I think I'll do the same when the time comes.

Hey RZ! What did you do to paint the frame and swing arm?? Powder coat? Do you have a 'professional' spray gun? Did you 'rattle can' it? A 2 1/2" angular sash brush? Yours looks great in the pics and I have to do mine! ;D

I ended up using Rustoleum appliance epoxy (spray can). You can get it at home depot. On my RD I used Tremclad rust paint in a Campbell hausfeld HVLP gun. It isn't as tough as the rustoleum and doesn't resist gas very well. ( especially the BBQ gloss black paint on the pipes!!) The rustoleum seems to be really durable for a spray paint. If you do end up using the rustoleum, make sure you don't repaint anything until it’s dried for a week. (I think it even says this in the instructions lol) I screwed up the swing arm, repainted it after a couple days and it had some reaction and I had to redo it again.
