Cool build! I have a R5 I saved from a snow bank 3 years ago, the guy sold it to me for $200

I seen somewhere Yamaha rd using Kawasaki h1 heads...have you heard of this? If so, wouldn't that mean we could put modified reeded rd cylinders on our kawi's?

There was a guy who was putting aircooled RD350 cylinders on an H1 bottom end.. It was not bolt on, lots of machining. I'm not sure if he ever finished it. RD350LC 1980-1982 cylinders have the same stud spacing, bore and stoke as the aircooled RD cylinders. RZ350 cylinders while having the same bore and stroke mount differently to the cases. All I could find- www.2strokeworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=12158.0

RD cylinders are superior to triple cylinders.

Just as I thought back then, not really workable, an "easy" job that hasn't been finished in 5 years.

Something you've seen attempted?

Better to just build a complete Yamaha triple engine. There were a few air cooled & quite a few early TZ liquid cooled triples racing in the day.Yamaha had a much stronger bottom end with lab seals & pinned bearings. The bonus is you get a six speed trans & 525cc. Brad

From the cases, it looks like the transfer ducts are huge compared to the H1! I tend to agree, no point of choking off the RD jugs with H1 cases.

Any chance you have a set of 1973 RD350 crank cases you would sell ?
