I have never heard of a ‘72 with stock carbs and Wirges, 4 stroking. With that combo - they surge. And it’s difficult to dial that out - but not impossible. If it is 4 stroking the bike doesn’t feel like it’s running “horribly” ... just a bit flabby. Generally the plugs are a bit dark if this is going on. If it’s surging it feels like it is going to break apart.

Do you have resistance caps on ? 5k ohm caps that read high have corrosion on the resistor. If you are wanting to be on the frugal side take a large screwdriver and screw the brass part out and pop the resistor out and clean it up with some emery or sand paper That will dial your spark down to almost nothing

I will pick up some new ones and give them a try. Thank You...

Get non-resistor caps

If it’s surging it feels like it is going to break apart. I changed the spark plug cap I could not find non resistor cap so I got the same. I checked the resistance on the old cap and they were 4900 4850 4950 so they appeared to be fine? The bike still runs the same with new caps. I raised the needle from #1 back to #2 still has the 40 pilot jets. Zambia is right the bike sounds flabby I guess and the plugs a bit dark. I took a sound video with my phone but can’t download it here, so if anyone wants to have a listen you can pm me your email and I will send it to you. I would really appreciate a few of you guys listening to it and tell me what you all think. Thank you...

If original carbs, the mains and needles may be worn out of spec, that would certainly make things tough to dial in. Chokes are known to leak a bit making things rich. An Ivans kit will certainly help but they're not cheap. Like Walms mentioned make an indicator to see where its running the richest that will help isolate the problem area. You can also do plug chops at varying speeds. My 500 4 strokes a bit at smaller throttle openings but runs fine opened up, no big deal to me, better to be a little rich than lean anyway. If it were me and all the electrics are in spec, I'd put the carbs back to spec, then tune based on pods and chambers. Pods allow more air so mixture will be leaner, chambers also affect mixture espeacially at higher rpms. Its fiddly work tuning carbs to any given set up, and frustrating at the best of times!

Here is some carb tuning info: www.kawatriple.com/manuals/carbtune/carbtune.htmPut the #35 pilots back in & needle in #3 clip before you begin tuning. Put non-resistor caps on.... NGK# LZFH Diablo Cycles has them. Get rid of the oiled filters. The original air box is better than individual filters. Make sure pipes & baffles are clean & clear. There are several versions of Wirges pipes but 107.5 mains is usually a bit too large for any of them except stingers on stock ported H2. 4 stroking is a rich condition.

So to me it sounds like your idle and up a bit is rich. Sounds good when you are on the gas but when you let off and touch the throttle a bit to keep momentum its burbling, rich. Smaller pilots and needle, or as marxl said earlier. Pods are cool but not always the best solution.

The video shows a 1972 H2 running completely normally as far as I can tell. If you don't like the slight surging when running along steadily, shift up a gear.
There seems to be something odd about your handlebar though.
