I just ordered a set of Michelin Road Pilot 4's for the BMW from Pete's.
Better price then even GP Bikes can offer me ( even with my discount!).
I've ordered from them many times over the years and always got fresh rubber.
I check the build date when they arrive.
I feel I support 2 local shops now and they can not beat Pete's on tires so I'm spreading my cash around Canada when possible.
Plus when doing a restoration there's about 3 other local shops I use.
Nothing wrong with Pete's, great prices on fresh rubber!

Curtis what does your shop charge for a set of Road Pilot 4 GT's 180/17. 120/17
What do you charge for installation with the wheels off the bike?
You guys are closer to me so sell me on your business and you may get mine.

Wow!! I take a day off and the whole forum bursts into 'flames'! Everybody chill and take a deep breath. We need the brick and mortar businesses (Curtis) and the online guys too (Pete's?). I don't blame Cameron's, or anyone else, for not wanting to install tires sourced from somewhere else. Lots of issues could potentially result from a bad tire. Take time (like Steve and 'someone else' said) and build relationships with your local guys. There will still be things (like tires?) to buy online if you're so inclined. I'm glad to here that many guys are pleased with Pete's. That's a good thing. It's always good to hear of a business that has integrity and can be trusted to 'deliver the goods'. There are still a few nice days left for 2015. Everybody go for a ride and 'blow away the cobwebs'!

There's a time and a place for being cheap... tires are NOT that place in my opinion. I only buy quality rubber from a reputable dealer. Take no chances boys. Wow!! One things that's for sure this is probably the best free advertising the Pete's Superbikes out of Montreal has received off of a single message board in a while. www.petes-superbike.com/ browney out

You guys are the best. I'm glad our meets are serene. The internet can't convey interpersonal nuances. If someone's tire shredded during a ride, we'd all pull out the stops to help. Similar situations have already set the precedent.

I got my bt45 last week from there, and my local shop had no quams about installing it for me, he said he couldnt match the price, and understands the economics. Ive done business with Pettersens for ever,at least since the mid eighties, and appreciates any bussiness I bring him, they're the only people up here I'd trust with my bike, the other big box stores dont know you no matter how many times you come back, they just want to sell the whole deal or nothing. I know if there was a problem with anything I do or purchase for my bike, the boys at Pettersens would be the first to let me know. Thats comfort thats hardto find. So as others here have said, build a repore with your favourite shop, and enjoy the relationship.
