So are you saying these guys are not a reputable dealer. Hmm 5.7k likes from facebook. I don't know about that Drewski browney out I'm not ragging on Pete's Superbike or any other supplier. He could be top-notch, but I've heard negative stories about buying items that have a 'shelf life' like tires, from on-line sources. As has also been said, don't judge any business by Facebook 'likes'. That's foolishness! 'Pete' will be having his mother, father, brother, sister, cousins and everyone he knows 'like' him! You all certainly have the right to do what you wish. Buy what you want, where you want. I like dealing with my local guy that knows me and is motivated to retain my business. I also like to 'touch' what I buy, especially when it's something as important to my well-being as tires. Helping to keep my local guy in business is also in my best interest. Some of the first guys to bitch about there being no reputable dealers or suppliers left, are the same guys that buy most of their stuff online. I buy online too, but I'm a big supporter of the 'local guy.' I appreciate hearing about good sources for stuff, thanks for posting. No ranting here, just my opinion. Mainly, I'm reiterating my firm belief that tires (like helmets and other safety gear) are NOT the place to take chances or 'cheap out'. You know its funny how people can justify things. Instead of taking the modern approach to things. As for instance face book 5700 likes in facebook being all attributed to Pete's Superbike's relatives. That makes me laugh in that comment all by itself. In this modern era feedback from people is the best way to measure things just look at eBay as a example. I can understand that the online business is a big threat to the legacy brick and mortar businesses. But technology is changing consumerism. Just like digital cameras took away the film developing industry. The online sales industry is taking away the brick and mortar businesses. This is why a lot of department stores now allow you to order online and either pick it up or have it delivered. Because people shop around for the best deals. The online purchases that people make is because it is cheap because the overhead is less. Take for instance the tire that I purchased a brick and mortar bike shop quoted me over $300 dollars for a tire they had in stock. They didn't tell me how long they had it in the shop and I didn't ask if I could see it and touch it. I needed one and they had one period. I agree that online business is impersonal but when the brick and mortar business takes your hard earned money with a smile I guess that is Okay. I guess if it is your thing to bash online businesses and pay double for the same item you might as well tip the gas bar attendant $20 every time you get gas because that is a real person you are dealing with. Unless you pay through the pump with a debit card like I do. The tire that I purchased was not ten years old but a few months old and it is my understanding that you should change your rubber after 5 years of it being manufactured. Tires are not milk. The original intent of this posting was to pass some savings onto our members not to defend the website that I mentioned. I looked around for the best price for the recommended tire for my ZX900 which was the BT45. I didn't purchase some no name tire I purchased a top notch tire for my bike. So I can't understand how I am endangering myself buying a new tire from this website. That is just plain nonsense. But that is just my opinion or $0.02CDN browney out

I'm with you Browney, it's a bit of a rub when these guys insinuate the Pete's place is secondary to their shop. A big assumption as they probably have zero clue what the distribution chain is in reality... What ever makes you warm and fuzzy boys!

Thanks for the lesson in economics. I'm not 'bashing' anyone. You might read it that way, but that's not my intent at all. I already said I use eBay and other online suppliers all the time. There are great deals to be had, no doubt about it. I'm as 'modern' as anyone when it comes to my hobbies. My only criticism has been the fact that some outlets have flogged old rubber for super low prices. Buyer beware is all I'm saying. If 'Pete' gives good deals on current rubber, good. I'm just going to ere on the side of caution for something as important to me as tires. Nuff said. I have developed a very good relationship with a couple of shops in my area. I can get great prices on tires and lots of other items as well. In addition, I can get great, reliable service for my bike including dyno tuning and testing. For me and my purposes, I wouldn't want to loose them!!

When was this post ever about you Drewski. In fact no where in this post does it ask for your opinion really. It was about a place where you can get good rubber for a good price for the members info. As Forest Gump says "And that's all I got to say about that" browney out

But you quoted me in several of your comments so I was just responding to you. See you around.

Be careful with some of these online tire shops. A few shops have closed or been sued because customers brought in tires they purchased online and the shop mounted, only to have an issue with the tire.... We won't install tires we don't sell, neither will 6 other shops that we deal with. And it looks like it's all going that way now... Grab your tire irons boys The only reason yours and 6 other shops won't install tires they didn't sell is they're pissed off they didn't make anything off the tires I read on GTA motorcycle that a lot of shops had petitioned the manufacturers/suppliers to stop supplying Pete's because they were losing a ton of business, when that didn't work they decided well then we just won't install tires we don't sell, maybe a box of tissues are in order lol I've bought 3 sets of tires from Pete's in the last 3 years all less than a year old and no less than 38% off list with my most recent purchase 47% off

Maybe if shops didn't take advantage of their customers, there wouldn't be a need or want to buy tires and install them yourself. $200 per tire mounted for BT45's? Yeah right! How about if I bought a new car at a dealership outside of my town to get the best deal... Should I expect the local dealership to refuse to do warranty work?

You read it online, holy fukc it must be true ! How about the Yamaha dealer in Peterborough went bankrupt because they got sued over a tire they installed from someone else killed a guy ? Or HB cycle in Lindsay got sued for 35 thousand because the belts came apart in the tire and wrote the bike off when he crashed?!? Think before you speak, god damn simpleton, we discount our tires at 25% and are very competitive with Pete's, our install rates are one of the cheapest in town, and we stand behind our work.

Don't you worry bout that, Nope but I don't like being insulted or have the lords name used in vain when I make a valid post just because I read it online doesn't make it true yes but it also doesn't make it bullshit either does it? I also came back with my 8 H2's you knob. You don't know anything about it. You are one messed up dude. To put it politely. Threatening people by saying you won't install their tires if they don't buy them from you. Its outfits like yours that are putting yourselves out of business. Not the online business really. If you want to talk about my ZX900 or should I say 5 ZX900's one of them I took for certification and the shop wanted to gouge or should I say blackmail me for over a $1000 dollars plus tax for something that cost me $350 including the tire that I bought online. Plus they wanted to charge me for the certification again if I brought it back to them with the deficiencies corrected. Needless to say I told the guy fuk you instead thank you and got it certified by a more honest shop. Next time you post use your brain instead of your a s s. browney out
