H1A. stock porting. Dencos. Pods.
According to Denco, i was to go up 2 sizes on the mains. Mistakenly, I went up by 5's rather than 2.5's. So, I had 110 mains. I installed 105's. The 5000 rpm hit disappeared. I had done the timing statically only so I borrowed a good timing light because mine did not register at 4000 rpm and advanced the timing as per the light. worse again. Do I have to change the carb settings after doing the timing? I wouldn't think that a small change in timing could make such a difference. Input???
On the other hand, the ZRX runs great.

Changing iggy timing effects jetting big time. Typically the more you advance the timing, the richer the jetting needed.
Get yourself an Equus /INNOVA 3551 Inductive Timing Light. I'm told CTC has them at a very low price. I got mine from Amazon fro about $30. They work well on our bikes, even at high RPMs..

Went to Crappy Tire and got the light today. it works great at all rpm's. Roadrash came over from visiting my sister and set up the carbs on the H2 and I had already finished the H1. Now to see if it worked. They both sound really good.
sorry Curtis. I actually tried to buy my friend's at the local garage Snap on because he rarely uses it but he wanted to keep it.

Timing dead nuts. carbs synched and pulling equally. here is the plug with the recommended 105 mains as per Denco. Looks too lean to me? Do you concur, Doctors? i was thinking 107.5 as the 110's were too rich.

A bit of a chip in your thumb nail... It shouldn't be an issue to fix with a standard set of clippers.

WFO Dave? I'd jet up until she burbles, then back down one jet.

Denco recommends three jet sizes up for late H1 but only two up early h1.That would be 105 for H1a.I ran 110 in my race bike with no oil pump & some porting Read more: www.triplescanada.proboards.com/thread/9232/enlighten-me-carb-boy#ixzz3ByXzmajEWhich is it Brad? In the carb question to Walms before, you said this. The 110's do leave a much darker plug. I will try the 107.5's and see. It seems to flood in a quick roll on with the 110's. The plug with the 105's seems a little too light.

107 seems to do the trick. Good power on the pipe. It's still an H1 in the mid range but, shifting down is fun anyway.
This winter maybe some handling improvements to use this new power.
The saga continues........
