I'm signed up. Btw, the medium group is all full so we've all been put in the slow group according to Dave. Which is good for walms of course. Apparently the only difference is the naming of the group.

The real name is the scary group. These are the beginners that are the "road warriors", usually kids with a lot more bike than talent. Give them a wide birth, and don't expect them to hold a line in a corner. Try to stay on the inside if in a corner with one. They "usually" go as fast as they can on the straights, but then putt around the corners, and if they go in too fast, they stand it up and run off the track. (that's why you stay inside) The same with the straights, if they freak, they will go straight.
The big thing, is ride your pace, if your scaring yourself, slow down. There will be plenty of time to go faster later.......

Good advice Moo. Got to start some time. Next everyone will be hooked like you and go to the track all the time and start to run on some hot rubber.

There will be plenty of time to go faster later....... Truly, good advice John. Smooth and steady. Any doorknob can twist a throttle and ride in a straight line. This day is all about learning to be smooth, steady and progressively quicker through the turns. You'll likely be shocked at how much better you'll be at the end of the day. My only 'track day' experience was with a real mix of 'new' track riders. I was the only one on a 'vintage' machine. The rest had R6's, Gixxer's, Ninja's, etc. They went like stink down the straights, but were all over the map in the twisties. Calabogie is a seriously curvy track, so their horsepower didn't come into play all that much. It sure was fun running right up to their rear wheels in the turns. No fun not having the power to keep up down the straights though. I just keep telling myself that if passing had been allowed in the turns, I'd have had my way with them. Haha!

Dave's reply regarding zippered pants. I think I'll take my pants to the leather shop this week. Seeing as you are all in the slow group I wont make you put a zip on this time but bring some safety pins incase , Dave

Light rain will not affect the day. Heavy rain floods the track and brings the marshalls in. As with most track days, there is no rain date...you pay your money and pray mother nature smiles on us..
