September 20, 2014 Trackday Most track days are full of modern bikes which can be Intimidating to riders on vintage machines, well our day is the opposite .We do have some modern bikes but we now have a class for them separating them from the vintage bikes , they help make up the numbers but the goal is always to have more vintage bikes each year . What do we consider vintage? We follow the same criteria as the VRRA , anything from 1989 back . These days are split into 4 classes, slow, medium ,modern fast and vintage fast . The slow class is exactly that good for beginner riders and first timers on the track and we do get some rare bikes in this class .Medium is a little faster with a good mix of bikes and riders from all eras . Both the slow and medium classes follow the same rules . Modern fast is exactly that, modern bikes with experienced riders that like to ride fast . We do put some of the late model vintage bikes in this group . Vintage fast consists of bikes from 1978 and back. Price(CAD): $145.00 vintagemctrackdays.com/ Raimo, Paulh, Rick and I are going so far so get on the website and register. Should be lots of fun. It's not a Race so if you its too slow just bump up a class till your riding with people of your skill and speed level. Read the rules. Rick's been there several times if you have any questions or send a note on the website to Dave the organizer. Check it out.

Very cool Jim, this might just be the perfect environment for me to get my feet wet! This would be a good event for several guys to go to. Drive fast on a track where its a lot safer, not on the street.

I'm a loser. I went to Google maps, found the track then switched to satellite to get an idea of the layout. Guess what? A big honking cloud over the track LOL

Well hopefully all I'll need is a gerry can of gas! I'm looking forward to following some racers around the track to see how to handle corners properly, self taught so far! My pants and jacket have an 8" zipper at the back to attach, will this be enough to pass inspection? Also, rules on the site talk about attire but nothing about the bike... The last thing I want to do the day of is wrench. Any heads up for what they are looking for with the bike?

Brakes work. Nuts and bolts are tight. Lights and signals removed or duct taped over. I'm registered and paid for as well! Whoo hoo! The Mongrel is ready as well! Lights and signals are off... we're ready to rock!!
