Best guess would be 70-80 HP, at least that's where I should be...

Maybe you have seen this brute while surfin. (CR500) Roland Sands Design from Califonia builds concept motorcycles, products, and does consultation and marketing. I rode the 500cc dirt version years ago and just couldn't imagine trying to deal with all the vibration issues on a street version. I put in a lot of time with guys riding the CR250's in the late 90's and those engines were a real beast too. /they never seemed to quit. Roland Sands CR500 Link

Honestly, I think that bike looks frickin amazing! The pipe looks a bit too motocross but I love how the tail section incorporates the pipe. Very cool! There was a thread on kawi2stroke a while back where an engineering student was doing some work with a mass damper on his street cr500 but in the end I don't think there was a significant improvement. After reading that, I started thinking the 250 might make for a more streetable bike.

The 250 will be a more, plentiful engine to find over the 500 and really, your going to have just as much fun on a piped up 250

So what did you think of Paul's Aprilia 125 with the KTM 650 motor at the show?
He says the big 4 stroker is quite controllable but he's not used to riding such a light bike.

His builds are of extremely high quality. His rep on DTT is immense.

It certainly confirms that 200 lbs and 50 hp = fun!
