Check out the wirges carefully, they have a non-removal baffle section that can get easily plugged, causing no end to tuning ills, and/or engine meltdown. I have a set of H2 wirges suffering from this affliction. I'm thinking if I want to save them I'll need a 2' drill bit to hog it out. Keep your eye open for H1D stock pipes, much better looking. Mraxls resource page-> kawtriple.com/mraxl/ shows the differences. H1D stock pipes have a tab near the headpipe that bolts them to the 2 frame tabs directly under the engine, in addition to the headpipe and rear footpeg mounting points. 74,75, and 76 stock pipes will also fit with no modifications. Thanks for the heads up on the pipes. I will keep my eyes open for a stock set. If I use the Wirges pipes I may cut off the back section and rebuild the baffles then weld them back together again as I have a MIG and a TIG welder in my shop.

Thanks, the DT250 is a lot of fun but after you ride one of these old enduros your realize how good modern dirt bike suspension is. My DRZ400 is like the space shuttle compared to the old DT. ;D My 450 is not bad for vibration, at least it's smoother than the Triumph T140 and the Yamaha TX650 I had.

You work fast! Nice garage too -- if I had a nice lift like that --- well, I'd still be a hack, but my back would feel better. Good progress, more than I've accomplished in the last 2 months.

Thanks, the lift is an easy 1 day build if you have a welder. It uses a 6 ton bottle jack for lifting and the rest is common dimensional steel. I couldn't live without it now, my back is as old as I am. The one that Princess Auto sells is very good for the money but the one I built stands up on edge and rolls for storage. You can see it in this pic behind the H1. Money and time well spent building it.

Another kawi triple being reborn !!!!!!!!!WICKED !!!!!! Thanks Rocket, can't wait to get it going but money will be the deciding factor in how fast it sget done. Next spring is my goal. I'm looking at pistons and trying to decide if I should use Wiseco or Wossner. Any input from you triple gurus would be welcome.

Well givr, paul and I have all put the wosseners in there but mine is not running yet so I can't tell you performance wise but I hear that Wiesco can raise the the compressoin levels a bit so you have to be carefull on the boring size . The others will chime in and correct me if I am wrong .

Wossner's are less expensive, and have been roadraced and dragraced by reputable guys who back them. Plus they spec a tighter clearance than Wiseco's. I like the moly coating personally. I've only got 20km on mine, so it's a bit early to comment on this application.
