Can they be heated red hot to burn out the second baffle then repainted? Probably the best would be to cut off the last cone with a Dremel cut- off wheel (index mark the cone first) remove baffle and re weld cone. J

OK, exhaust wasn't the answer I wanted to hear but, I'll try the Kawonda pipes, check and/or charge the battery and , oh yea, I have to clean out the shed in the backyard first. Yes, Dear.

By the way, what will taking this baffle out do to the noise factor. This thing is already very loud. I wonder about a safety check .

Dave, I've had a couple of 500's with Wirges. One was an H1B with points. Both required the jetting I laid out. While performance was lacking compared to WTF's they both ran decent... about the same as with stock pipes. You say timing is set as it should be and you can't get to to power band because of being bogged down at 1/2 throttle with the same or similar jetting. That says something is seriously wrong and clogged pipes is the next logical reason for it. Maybe the problem is somewhere else but with the symptoms you describe coupled with the stellar reputation of Wirges it only makes good sense to thoroughly investigate that possibility rather than spinning your wheels with jetting efforts. Unfortunately, the only way to be sure is to try another set of pipes or rip open the ones you have. Running with clogged pipes is kind of like trying to run a 100yd dash with your mouth closed... idle is ok but with rpm the cylinders need to breathe. If you end up gutting the Wirges the sound level won't be much different than any other set of baffled chambers. You can wrap the removable baffles with good packing material and quiet them down if they are too loud. I know it isn't what you want to hear but I sincerely hope the swap effort will resolve the question. Attachments:

Take a broom handle or the like and run down the silencer. It should go all the way into the main body. If it stops, then take something hard and knock out the blocker plug in the baffle.

I hate it when you guys are right and it's the expensive thing that's wrong. I baling wired the wirges from the Kawonda on and the thing took off like a scared rabbit. I'll try Jamoo's thing first. what happens to the blocker plug. can I let it rattle around in there or will it blow out without the removable baffle in there? I can't just use Kawonda's pipes because I had to move the mounting brackets to fit the Honda frame mounts.

Duhhh, I guess the plug would roll out the front. it takes a while but eventually I get it.
Will this much easier pounding out the plug thing work rather then having the pipe cut to pieces?

NAG....NAG....NAG...... I could feel my estrogen level increase!!!!!
You might try driving your car over your Wrigleys front to back and try to squeeze the extra baffle out the end (like tooth paste)!! Mod your pipes as required as essentially they are fancy sounding mufflers.

OK Thanks. by the way, I have the whole day to play. We started cleaning out the shed but the boss decided she wanted it down so out came the crowbars and the sledge. After the frustration of Kawasaki analysing it was great fun to pound the crap out of the walls to an old building. We knocked it right down and piled the rubble at curbside for heavy pick up. Better than what I wanted to do to the H1F'n B by this point.

I have two or more japscrappy triples that can barely get out of their own way, if move at all it would be wonderful if merely tacking on some Wirges would have them taking of like a scared rabbit ;D

Now put them on eBay and use the funds to get a "real" set of pipes.... WTF's!

Considering the lack of revs you described earlier, I suspect there might be more than a single pipe clogged. You may want to check for a mouse nest etc in the pipes too.
Don't forget to fully charge your battery and get rid of any resistor spark plug ends if fitted.
