Finally got my new headlight. I'm building a typical front number plate/headlight for trackers. That stock headlight sucked balls anyhow. It's a Cree 30w led. It is insanely bright! But it has a low beem as well as a strobe. eBay from China for about $14. I think they claimed 2500 lumens.

Fabricated some crappy but useful mounts for the number plate. Just a hoseclamp with a post on it. #plate turned out ok. I'm sure it's a like it or hate it thing for most people.

It's different, and that's why I like it.
You might find if you ride in the dark at all you might want the light up higher, but that's just me

Yea I had debated that. It's pretty deep so I can't move it up too high. With no fender might be ok. But I still might need a fender so we shall see.
Good thing is all but 1km of night riding is on roads with streetlights. I have a small jaunt to work.

You will probably be fine, especially if that light floods at all, should be no issue

Well I was thinking about a number but then I thought this.
"Hello police, Hi, oh thank heavens your there, I just cut off and nearly killed this motorcycle rider because I'm in my minivan and I'm completely oblivious to what I'm doing. Then he just raced past me, stared at me angrily and gave me the finger. I'm scared, I think he's mad. Please help. Ok, calm down miss, did you get his license plate? No, but it's a noisy bike that burns oil, oh and it has a big number 5 on the front of it. Thank you ma'am, we're sending the Calvary. Enjoy your daily drive with your head up your a$$. "
Or something to that effect.

Haha true enough! I had a high school buddy tell me once that my personalized licence plate on my stang was a bad idea, way too easy to read! He figured a better plate would be made up of Roman numerals! Of course if you are in the same situation as me, where you are the only 2 stroke in town, it doesn't matter what you look like. The cops can just pull over and have a listen to be able to pin point my 10-20

Luckily enough (so far) the cops are pretty cool in my town. I've received a thumbs up from 1 officer and pretty much left alone by the rest. The officer that helped me with my ownership last summer recognized my bike when I showed it to him a pic of it... His comment, "oh, your the guy that rides around in full leathers." Yup that's me, I'm afraid of road rash more than sweating my butt off! Lol So yeah, they know the locals but I think they give the vintage bikes a pass or maybe assume a young guy would never ride an old bucket of bolts.
