So, here is the quandary. I want to keep it original but there are some rust spots on the frame. From a snobby collector's or purist's, or even a mercenary point of view, what do I do? Can I just touch up the spots with black paint? Do I just put some clear on top of the rust? Also there is a small spot of peeling chrome at the back of the centre muffler. What constitutes the " original" name?
Opinions invited. I will say that I think I am going to keep it and rise to the top of the heap like a Zambia and Ned H2 level. You know, the big time...

I would touch up the paint on the frame, paint the narcels with that wrinkle stuff...and ride the wheels off it

If I do keep this one, that means that the Peacock would be on the sale block

That's it Walms, I do. I do admit that I can afford insurance for only one bike though.

I hate myself for not finding this bike 1st hahaha What a score and to answer your question....I agree with Ian. Leave as is: clean it up 7" headlight, repaint narcels (word of the day!), add the gauge rubbers over the chrome ring and ride..and maybe some grips. What's the Peacock bike?

Going through some old pics and I realized your H2 looks just like my dad's old bike back in the day. The pics are from 1978
Very cool!
