Hey all,
So I know most of you have seen my bike on the "General Forum" however I figured I'd start a build thread to document the build and have you guys chime in when i'm starting to go wrong ps..Yes, the horn is upside down haha
A little background...I've had a couple guys question my interest in the old triples since they were a few years before my time so here goes. Despite being a huge 2 stroke fan and appreciating all the nostalgia behind the kawi triples I also have some sentimental attachment to the bikes...Growing up my dad always had a few of his old bikes left over which a couple times a year he would drag out and give us all rides. One of which happened to be a '72 H2. Latter on in life he passed away and after a few years we sold his H2 to a family friend. Ever since I've been on a mission to get one of my own to complete the pack again.
SO FINALLY the time came and I got my own H2. "Beauty is only skin deep" was definitely true with this bike. I unfortunately had "H2 Blinders" on and over looked A LOT of little things however I still think it's a great platform to start with and I'm excited to start this build.
After doing some digging I've come up with an initial check list which has shrunk down since beginning the project...
-Pegs (Front)
-Rear Drum Arm (Connects brake rod to drum)
-Chrome seat strips
-Correct Speedo
-Tool kit Strap
-Tool Kit
-Headlight Ears
-Chain Guard
-Center Stand w/ Hardware
-Clean Header Pipes
-Exhaust Clamps / Seals
-Front Fender
-Upper Air Box Snorkel
-Clean fork tubes
-Rear signal light arms
-Chrome Rear Shocks
-Mirrors
-Red high beam indicator light
-LH Controls
-Front brake lines (LH/RH)
-Front brake line holders (LH/RH)
-Rear Brake Light switch
-Rear Grab Handle
-Tail Trim (Chrome)
-Gauge Covers (Rubber)
-1 RH Cylinder Head
-Wiring harness
-Rear Axle
-Chain Lube Bottle Strap
-Rear Axle spacers
-Front fork axel caps (secures axel to bottom of fork)
-Front axle Spacers.

...also considering a KZ brake swap and hydraulic clutch too if I come across the parts.
