This is what I used on a 500 triple. I tried it today with a single BA9S indicator bulb powered from the green wire off the flasher with no resistors or diodes and it works fine. The flash rate sped up by about 15-20% and is quite acceptable. The green wire from the flasher supplies the handle bar switch orange wire which redirects power to the left or right. Plug/connect/splice/whatever the turn indicator monitor light into the orange wire in the bucket but leave the orange connections connected. Are these sold on e bay ?

A lot of good info. I think there's a lot of people (me included) that just get leds and except them to be a direct replacement...clearly not the case, hopefully people thinking about using leds look at this thread first... And save a lot of time trying to figure it out

PS remember to also unplug and ground the indicator bulb case wire.

Tried the flashers with the indicator light removed and it worked.I ordered the resistors for the indicator so I'll know when they are flashing.I'm not used to flashers but they are better than hand signals.I saw a guy the other day, on a bicycle, signaling a right turn with his right hand! Maybe now I can ride without losing my battery.

I hope you mean you ordered two diodes for the indicator light.

Hey roadrash, Did you try plugging your signal indicator monitor light into the orange flasher output wire in the headlight bucket and grounding the other end of that same indicator monitor bulb to a black ground wire?(say ground it to the frame, forks or bucket) the Curious if it works with all flashers. Thanks. rt

Just finished trying this rototiller.I thought it worked great until I shut off the flashers and the indicator kept flashing.I tried different ground spots but no difference.

Mom always said that you just weren't well grounded

Maybe your flasher can't handle the small load of the indicator bulb without flashing. Wonder if your older flasher will work? Other than that you may have to do the diode thing.

The indicator light works but all four flashers flash at the sametime.Remove the bulb and everything works fine.Waiting for the resistors, for the indicator, to show up and then we'll see.

Do you mean you're waiting for the diodes? That's what you need.

Hi roadrash,
That's why you need the diodes. Radio shack should have them.
