Hi Guys I'm looking for anyone who has installed these. It's my '74 400.I put the tail light in and it worked fine.Tried the signals but they wouldn't flash. I ordered an electronic flasher,it just arrived today. Now the lights flash quickly but the other signals flash too but on only half the bulb. There must be some wire that needs to be cut or rewired. Anyone?

I had the same problem, it had to do with the little power needed for leds wasn't enough for the flash...I fixed it by wiring in peanut bulbs, covered them in rtv and heatshrinked....I'm sure a special flasher or a resistor is the correct way to make it work, but my backyard method worked

Now the lights flash quickly but the other signals flash too but on only half the bulb. I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The non-LED lights flash only half of the bulb? That's normal for dual-filament bulbs. Or do you mean the LED bulbs flash only half of the little LEDs inside them?

Sounds like the LED flashes only half the bulbs.
But in the opposite side ?

Oh, I'd have to check a wiring diagram, but I remember many bikes wired so the yellow flasher indicator on the dash gets grounded though the unlit flasher bulbs. Maybe that's causing some of the LEDs in the signal that's not supposed to be lit to glow dimly.

The led flash would of worked if you had all leds but because you only did the tail light, now there's not enough power for the other lights, get resistors for the tail lights and put your old flasher back in

I suppose you could just rewire the yellow dash signal indicator with two diodes from the L and R flasher circuits and keep all the low-current benefits of the LEDs, rather than adding resistors to make them draw as much current as the original bulbs did.

I got the electronic flasher to cope with the low power led's.The stock flasher did not work. If I add resistors they'll draw as much as the old bulbs. My bike refused to idle with the old lights.I guess there's not enough charging for the lights and an electronic ignition. Jim's idea sounds good.I'll try that next.

I have LEDs signals with led flasher and they work fine. I also wired the rear and front elements together so both ends of each light would flash. Also using two directional indicators in the dash. The lights with flasher relay were dirt cheap too. I used no resisters or supplemental diodes.

I was thinking about the single instrument indicator light. You could buy 2 LEDs and put them in the hole in the tach, then run the wires to each respective front indicator connection. Two small LEDs should be easy enough to adapt into a decent fitment.

The problem with using LEDs for turn signals is the way Kaw hooked up the dash light indicator. Disconnecting it will allow LEDs to work properly (w/electronic flasher) for TS lights. Diodes will work if you want to retain dash indicator or two separate dash lights (properly wired) will work.

This is what I used on a 500 triple. I tried it today with a single BA9S indicator bulb powered from the green wire off the flasher with no resistors or diodes and it works fine. The flash rate sped up by about 15-20% and is quite acceptable. The green wire from the flasher supplies the handle bar switch orange wire which redirects power to the left or right. Plug/connect/splice/whatever the turn indicator monitor light into the orange wire in the bucket but leave the orange connections connected.
