I've been searching for a front and rear combination for my s2 project. is there an improved combination over stock? I plan on using aluminum rims...shouldered or not.

Sun rims, that`s what I used, pricey but worth the investment.

If you can spare the ground clearance 17s are also readily available tires, and you can go to an aluminum mag like from an EX 500

Stock tires were really skinny for the bikes. 90 front and 100 rear work very well. 2.15 rims would work fine, and I also use the BT 45's.

I matched the original rim sizes as close as possible with the dimple-less sun raw alum. rims, the tyres are 3.00x18 front and 120-90x18 rear, rims prt#, rswm218 front(1.85x18), rswm318 rear(2.15x18) These are pretty close to factory and the tyre sizes give good handling and look awesome.

A 120 tire is to big for 2.15 rim.Like Moo said,100 or a 110 max.You can squeeze a 120 on there but it don't make it right.

Brad The quoted rear rim size may be wrong, but the rim has no size marking on it, the tyre dosen`t look wrong or too big, so the rear rim is probably bigger/wider if i remember i think the rim was special ordered, it may be a 2.75? either way my mechanic didn`t think it was too big for the application, I trust him he and his father have been building bikes for ever, starting in Denmark as race specialists. Don`t know for sure, I`m not a rim guy, I get others to do that for me with in the the specs I desire., the bike as set up looks very close to stock(size wise) and handles very well. The (stock?) rims on the bike were 160x18 and 185x18 at least that was what was on it.
