Hi Guys Finally getting around to making a build thread. I have appreciated all the great knowledge on this site so hopefully someone in the future will find this of value. First off ... a big thanks to all the people that have been helping along the way. But a special thanks to H2Dude who rescued this from going to the scrap heap. While the project initially looked complete, upon tear down the engine was a total loss. The bottom end from Ian as well as pistons, rings and cylinders made it feasible to start this project. This is not going to be a high dollar build but more about getting another 2 stroke on the road. This is what I started with. Looked for from far but was far from good Tear down starts Rear rim was beyond salvage ... Ian's was better Lots of surface rust but the frame was solid

Clean up starts with the carbs. They came apart Ok except the pilot jets were not going to budge. I have an ultra sonic cleaner and while that did what I thought was a great job, nothing compared to what my local mechanic was able to do with his. It's all about the chemicals and while mine uses a product specifically for ultra sonic cleaner it just wasn't as good as what he used.

The caliper was jammed tight with junk. Compressed air wouldn't budge it at all. Boiled it for a couple of minutes Sandblasted and cleaned. I used caliper paint on the parts

Working on wheels now. Both the front and rear bearings have been brutal to remove Lots of heat and I still needed a bigger hammer, this is the biggest one I have. I was surprised by the amount of force needed. I thought it was welded in there

Looking awesome! I just did the front wheel bearings in my S1. Show no mercy, just hit them with all you can.
