Here is my 1971 H1A .
Just got her fired up this weekend . it turns out it was the A box that was the culprit for the NO FIRE.
Once getting the carbs synced I was ready for a test ride . OK get her warmed up , pull in clutch give some gas and she STALLED .lmao Ok guys my 75 H2 was never like this .
I try once again , lots of throttle and clutch slipping I'm underway .
First thought that entered my mind was Christ I was in 2nd gear starting off (and so did my neighbour) .
NOPE! first it was .
Second thing I noticed there is NO POWER below 3500RPM .
Short run , come home and let her cool down .
Double check everything and found the head bolts needed a re torque .
OK 2nd attempt. It takes 3 kicks to get her fired up and no less .
Motor sounds great even better than my 72 H1B ( Hmm I wonder why) .
Snick it into FIRST gear give her some throttle (3000) and lots of clutch slipping and I'm away .
Once the needle hits 4000 ..yeeehaaaww .
Boy does this bike work good . much better than I thought .
I was hitting 60 MPH in no time with a BLUE cloud behind me .
Brakes work good even that double leading thing up front.
Tach bounced crazy at 7000 ..I've heard of this.
I LOVE the sound from this TRIPLE Sounds like I'm sitting on a dragster !! ;D
Again it sounds different than my 72 .
I can see this being a hand full in traffic with that clutch slipping and keeping those revs up.
At 3000 rpm if you open the throttle (2nd gear) all you get is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA until it hits that magic number of 4000 .
Well Ok it's crude in some ways and many of todays riders will NOT like this Triple BUT I love it .
Can't wait for a ride on my 72 just to compare .
Here are some pics (slide show )
