So I took the old Stator and cleaned it as best I could, replaced points and condensers with og kawi ones. Put it all back together. set the gap checked for spark only the left plug had a nice blue spark. The other two plugs had no spark at all. By that point i actually found a used stator in better shape than the one I had. So I just received the newer stator, swapped in the new caps and points. will install the new stator today. I really hope this works but I'm also wondering if it's the coils. How do you test ignition coils?

The stator on an S2 has nothing to do with spark.

The stator on an S2 has nothing to do with spark. As long as the battery has a charge anyways (the alternator/stator windings keeps the battery charged)....No power to battery: The bike will eventually quite on the side of the road as the battery dies. J

I should have clarified as usual. I didn't replace the stator because there was no spark. When I pulled the cover to check my gap and timing the stator points and condensers were rusted to death. points were fused together.

J Of course you are right about this but as described, charging isn't the issue. Just hate to see folks spend unnecessary money out of ignorance. Once in a while I try to post in an effort to keep some sanity in efforts. Chances are that a search on the Resource site would answer his issue, but I avoid quoting it.

Check to make sure that the wires to each set of points is in the correct position. Not on the wrong side of the little insulator. look at the cylinder that you have the spark on and make sure the wires on the other 2 sets of points are connected the same. Don't ask how I know this or why I suggest you check it.
