I tried the search function but it didn't help me.
I'm wondering if there is another source (non kawi dealer) to get H1 wristpins (kawi says N/A) circlips crankshaft needle bearings (top) pistons rings
I have all the gaskets for a top end rebuild I just need a source for the metal stuff. I have the kawi part #'s but wondering if anyone has seen these parts from a place like motovan or thibault etc..
and to be certain my pistons say .5 what are the proper rings to get?

Andre has everything you seek. Your rings should be 60.5mm (or plus .020") Also...Andre has fast and inexpensive shipping. www.diablocycle.com/Engine-c-36/?page=5

i'd reuse the pins and maybe the bearings if they're in good shape... definitely replace the circlips
0.5mm is .020", you need the rings to match.
if you are using OEM pistons then use OEM rings, wiseco pistons then wiseco rings and so on just to be safe...

What is the word on reusing piston rings? I have a few sets.
I thinkmy small end bearings are in good shape but somehow I want to get new and the wristpins have the slightest indent where the piston was sitting so I was going to change them as well.

I wouldn't do it...new set is $115 and you honed the cylinders right? I would get new pins and bearings too.

Its more expensive to rebuild a full motor when a bearing.cage lets.go in.the top end and crunches everything below.it
I always do.pins bearings pistons rings and sir clips at the same.time

what about a big end bearing letting go? or a piston skirt? or a ring locating pin? where do you draw the line on a repair? i guess it's what ever makes you feel comfortable inside (like synthetic oil). i don't think that it is unwise to reuse some items like small end bearings and pins if the check out fine and are free of pitting or metal contamination from something grenading. don tt-nut would reuse rod and big end rod bearings if they were ok. i have yet to hear pin and rod bearing failures yet under normal conditions.
i think if you price out rings (especially if NOS) and small end bearings you might as well buy a complete top end kits.
why did your engine eat a piston in the first place? no sense in doing anything until this is determined?

I think the bike leaned out from leaning! It was running on the side stand for a prolonged period...I think I read that.

That is correct.I believe the bike was on the side stand for too long.
I priced everything out that I needed new. about $200. I think I'll buy that piece of mind for this rebuild. I'm going to take inventory of all the other bits I have and check them out and maybe rebuild another motor I have with those bits ...just to see what happens..
