I noticed a new annoying metallic rattle coming from the left pipe on my RZ 350 F2 commuter ride, so I cut it apart...the internal baffle/restrictor in the fat part of the chamber had cracked/failed its welded mounts. It is a a blanking plate with 2 smallish tubes [~12mm] set through it, so I cut it all out to create a fully open chamber, & did the same to the right pipe. I had a dyno-jet carb kit & some carbontech reeds sitting on the shelf, so I put them in too. Cut airbox , fitted Unis. Def`improvement in throttle response/rev-out, & feels more lively, has a bit deeper sound with added snap crackle..pop.

I didn't know there were restrictors in the F2 pipes. Are your F2's rated at 63hp?

Dont know, in Australia they uprated the 250, with the end can pipes, but not the 350.. I stuck a set of 250 pipes on mine when I lost a baffle & couldn`t buy a replacement..

Ah, yeah, didn`t note it.. I also took the opportunity when the pipes were off to cut the headers to mount `em with collar/springs MX [or Denco] style, it`d got annoying with them always coming loose/leaking..rubber mounted mill & fixed clamp headers don't work too good.

I guess that if you want to find out if your stock RZ pipes are similarly stuffed, put a long rod [or hose, - if going head 1st] down them & if it hits a block, you`ll know [baffles out/cans off, 1st - obviously].
