Had my KH 500 KAWASAKI TRIPLE ads on kijiji . Used different cities as i had in the past , Toronto, kitchener /etc. I have always done this in the past , sold about 4 bikes to Toronto area and farther . Now they cancelled all my ads and said i can only post in my area ( LONDON ). , sorta sucks Had a guy coming from fort erie this Sat ,now my ad is gone , hope he still has my number.

Ya, I've wondered about this! I've tried posting the same ad in multiple areas and I've always been "prevented" by kijiji. I know many people do it, so I don't know how some do and others can't. There must be subtle differences in the ads or something. Any ideas guys?

Now that you can search a large number of cities at once, it doesn't matter as much. My search is now "Ontario". When Jay's ad came up I would get 5 or 6 in a row

I just dont understand the difference about posting in different areas If it is a legit item for sale . I have sold more bikes to guys in Toronto than here . Limits your chances of a sale. Just sorta sucks

I agree Ian when I do a search it's always Ontario but not everybody does so it must limit your advertising range somewhat.

Kijiji a pain for Orangeville... Pick from Barrie or Guelph area. Everyone knows the Big O is the hub for these other 2 chump towns... My only thought why they do it is to keep people from traveling too far to see the merchandise??? I only use the iPhone app for kijiji and I can pick a maximum distance from my house, the problem is, I have to check 3 different area's and do the same search!

Ya, I do the province wide search too. That's how I know the same ads appear in a multitude of regions. I don't understand kijiji's reasoning on this one. What could be wrong with advertising further afield? More sales. More satisfied sellers and buyers.

But I think most people do province-wide search and end up seeing the same ad 10 times..then they complain..perhaps? I have the app too and it pretty much sucks!

I also have the app. I just play with it when I'm board.

I dunno, if I'm looking for triples or triple stuff, I'm looking province wide to get a better hit count on prospectives. I think enthusiasts travel far and wide for their booty, right Ari? If I see multiple listings, it seems like too much potential competition, takes away the exclusiveness of the find, at least from my (the potential buyer's) perspective. If I'm kind of into the listing posted in Oshawa/Durham region, but then realize I have to drive 3 hours one way to see it, I may count on holding back some $ to compensate my time/fuel spent in getting there, or say forget it, I'll keep looking for something closer. But if I do go, the offer to the seller is going to reflect the costs incurred. If I'm sold on the item, it won't matter where it is. Maybe I'm talking outta my a$$. Maybe not. Or just wait for RB to make his continental rounds with his truck and trailer. He'll get to you eventually. ;D

The thing is, people in Thunder Bay post their single ad in Toronto. The location of the post doesn't guarantee the location of the item. THAT frustrates me more than multiple posts.
