Pretty sure we saw this bike at the Kawasaki tent in Mid-Ohio a year ago last July. Very nice!

Odd thing is I think he rebuilt it with no intentions of running it.

It does appear to be a nicely restored H1R. Clean bike.
Aluminum rear fender - this apparently was on the 1970 models. The 1971 race 500s came with a fiberglass rear fender.

It looks beautifully done. Only appears to need a few little things.

Well that was a bit disheartening. $27500. That H1R drag bike sold a few years ago for $24000? And it was a missing important parts, but original. Maybe this is just a reflection on the American economy.

A bike like that actually has a very small market. Someone has to be a serious collector to pay thousands for a bike which will probably never be started. From a selling perspective, the best you can hope for is that 2 or 3 keen buyers are competing for it..then the bids go crazy. And yes, the economy doesn't help much..which is probably why some of these items are up for sale in the first place.

Collectors.... My goal is to get mine to the track again. Even if it's only once!

Collectors.... My goal is to get mine to the track again. Even if it's only once! Yeah baby! I would bend every rule in the book to try and get a title for it! Riding an H1R to work...priceless! ;D ;D

Oh I don't have any spare parts... Well I would whack a different H1 motor in it for that kind of thing..but just tooling down the road on a significant piece of motorcycling history..wow.

That would be cool. I've got a 750 motor! Lol. I've registered less legal things. Like a yz450 and yz250. Hell my 250 triple isn't even legal. Errr I mean . . .

I was going to put the 750 motor in mine but decided to keep it 500.That is why the motor is for sale.

Invert the left and right cylinders or maybe there is room for 3 center cylinders? I'd go for it if I were you... ;D
