hello all,
i would like to plug Dave Singleton (porschedave on the worldwide forum).
dave sent me up a built and ready to go crank for a 500 earlier this summer.
i was very pleased with the quality and his service. i'd prefer to sent my cranks to a "triple guy" rather than a generic crank builder.

Any idea what the approximate shipping costs there and back for a regular rebuild? Did you investigate the procedures for customs for the two way shipping? J

I'm also interested in this, got a couple H1 cranks that need to be rebuilt with Chris Ritchie lab seals. I don't want it messed up by someone who doesn't have the love.

My guess is $60-$80 to ship one way. Of course you could get nailed on the way back if you are insured for the total amount and get the Random check at the boarder... That would probably cost an additional $120
Better to time right and get one our American friends attending a rally to bring it across the boarder for ya.

There is a fellow in SW Ont that has had a Kaw dealership for over 35 years. He and/or his dad have done something like 120+ Kaw triple cranks over the years... J

An extra hit of $320+ might be hard to swallow.. A better deal might be to buy a crank outright from Porsche Dave and absorb the cost of the core...

I'd like to get an h2b crank done as well. Might be cool to try a properly balanced and lightly breathed on h2 engine.

Try Gord Bush or NH Cycle (519) 662-1875 for crank builds

For the boys near Winnipeg I highly recommend Roy Borton (over 30 years experience) who did the crank on D and over 5000 miles on it so far. You supply the crank and the new bits... $185.00 flat rate. www.royborton.com/pages.php?page=machineshop
