Hi Guys,
I am getting ready to paint the tins on my H1E. I was wondering if any of you out there might have a paint code for the bright red color on the tank where the kawasaki logo is applied?
I have paint for the rest of the tank that is a very close colour match. Any insight here is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Lou

I have a friend that painted his H1E himself. If no one here knows, I will email him and ask.

I got mine done by a painter in Vancouver, I can ask him where he got the code or if he still has it?

I left a message with the painter to call me. His problem seems to be that the original codes take some converting to deal with the new paints.

That's ok, I am an auto body technician. I can convert the code at work. Thanks, Lou

This is what my friend e-mailed me. It looks like you need a white base to use the red candy he used. Not sure if this will help you.

There is no "code" that would be spot on. If you want to simulate accurately, a simple candy red tint mix over a coarse charcoal base. It could easily be mixed from any automotive paint system if the user knows the machine. I could supply materials if needed. ;D ;D ;D

Sounds like you have your answer, I could not get my painter on the phone.

Thanks for your help. This should work perfect. I can cross reference all those numbers. Your friend is right about the white base. I found that on all these Kawasaki candy colours it is a good idea to start with the white base before spraying the top coats. Even on straight pearl colours it makes them stand out better.
