hello, im looking for some help. while rebuilding my h2 engine transmission, i noticed the needle bearings on the ends of the shafts were finished. after replacing them and also replacing the actual shafts(the old bearings had worn out the ends), im now having a problem with binding. in neutral, they spin freely. once in 1st through 5th, they tend to bind. spinning fine for half the turn and then being too tight for the other half. its driving me crazy. at first i thought i had tightened the crankcase too tight but if i spin them while holding down the bushings with my hands, it still does it. everything was put back on the shaft as it was before, and as in the pictures in the shop manual. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as i would love to get the bike out before the season ends. thanks, paul Attachments:

was the tranny well oiled prior to installation in the cases?
? if it is then you'll probably have to take the tranny all apart and lay it out from left to right - top to bottom and compare with the parts diagram or another pic of a different H2 tranny that somebody else has already done (may take some searching but I'm sure you'll find a good reference pic)
maybe you'll have to measure your shafts at 2 or 3 spots to see if they're straight? (lathe and dial indicator), and check all gears for flatness, out of round?? any other damage...
if everything checks out buy NEW circlips and reassemble, oil and reinstall

I gotta add that I've only done 1 transmission, an H1, and it's been working great for 900km's

Could a locating pin be out of place and be putting pressure on the bearing?

thanks for the responses. i didnt reply because i did not receive any notice. anyways. i ended up buying a new transmission and was able to chose the best of the two and build one that works great. although, if anyone can help me with some selector forks i would greatly appreciate it. thanks again.
