For my S1, the VIN number on the frame was not in the system at the ministry of transportation. I also had no bill of sale.
I wrote up a letter saying I am the rightful and legal owner of the bike, put down the year, VIN, Make, Model and colour. I also described how I got it, where, when, my intensions ect..
I took that letter to The Brampton City hall and had it commissioned at the City Clerks office. $35 was the charge by the commissioner.
I then took the commissioned letter to the Ministry of transportation office. This is the hardest part.. finding someone at the office that knows something about this process. After talking to the manager, my new title was handed to me. It cost $10 plus the tax on the bike. I said it was given to me for free, but she wouldn’t accept that. So I then told her $1 ;D
Overall It was very easy and fairly painless...

Congrats! That's pretty much the exact experience I had with mine. I'm sure you feel relieved that you've got that piece of green paper.

Many of these bikes have not been on the road for years. The Ministry went from paper to computer about 15-20 years ago. If the bike is not on the system, the best way is to just tell them you have owned the bike for 20 years & lost the ownership. ::)I have done this for two bikes now with no problems. Brad
