I was there! What a ride! Right wrist aches from throttle-twist..brake..throttle-twist..brake. Left wrist aches from yanking 32 year old clutch. I estimate 500 shifts one way, that's 1,000 return. now multiply that by 8-10 runs per day! Met some guys from KTW board, saw some fantastic (and some blue collar) bikes. Also saw a gathering of 60 Ferraris! That place is straight out of the twilight zone. And the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort is owned by two Canadians. By mid week, cool shots of the tail of the Dragon should viewable at www.killboy.com who had three photographers roadside and took over 12,000 shots. ;D

Nice pictures!!! So was it worth the drive? Did you meet any board members? Any favorite bikes? Will you go back?

Definitely worth the drive. Met lots of the guys (could have met more, but I was also spending time with my wife): Lane, Redmerde, Evans, Ric, Moo, Tom Garcia, Jeff Goldblatt, Southern H2, Motometal, Tim Steele, Top Raman etc.
I would go back tomorrow. We should organize a Canadian convoy next spring, it's a real good time. No egos, no BS, just a bunch of nice guys having fun with their hobby.
All the bikes were nice. I particularly liked the fleet of blue '72's of which there had to be at least 8 or 9. JayDav's had the best sound, Redmerde's was the most mint. But nobody is out of place, you could be on a rusty old S2 and get just as much respect as the guy on the restored H2.
