Here are 3 photo's of my H1B in progress. You can also see the tank stripping is different than the one you see on all H1B/C's . look at the top stripe it is not orange . Did kawasaki change the colour somewhere along the line as I cannot find a photo of this anywhere only the one with the traditional Orange on top. I'm just awaiting for some points, oil pump gasket and a new chain plus getting the fronts brakes working. Ian

A lot of hard work went into that( cleaning) . Not sure what the previous owner soaked it with but it stained everything !!!!!!!! . A lot of engine cleaner, soap and a wire brush brought it back up . I thought I coud re use the original chain , after all it has only 6,900 miles on it BUT the chain is worn out . I guess the first owner negleted the chain . lol Now the fun part is getting it out of the basement ;D Ian

They were all the same in '72 on the H1B & H1C but certain colours are more affected by UVs than other. Kinda like the stripes on your other bike that faded from yellow to white. I'm expecting your turn signal bracket to arrive next week so I can ship it and your points/condensers together. Pump gaskets should be in next week too. You've done a great job on your H1B. Andre

Thanks Andre Now if this snow will just go away maybe I can take the 350 for a ride and get the H1B out of the basement . I don't think Sandra would like it if I fired her up down there.

Ian I hope so, stripped completely, frame is painted. Now it is a rolling chassis. All signals, wiring and front end are on it. Going to drop the engine in this week. Still need tires, wheel bearings and paint, just the expensive stuff. Fathers day weekend shouldn't be too much trouble

Hey Ian, the left side cover from your H1B, can I have it for free?
Kidding, what I need to know is there a rubber grommet of sorts to go on the cover or on the 2 hangers it hangs from. Mine had some old tape on the hooks, to stop it from rattling. The part book I have shows no. Course it didn't show the rubber that is in the double coil mount either.

Hey Don As you found out ..yes there is a rubber strip for the cover . Glad to hear you should have the H1B ready for Paris. Gary I was fortunate to get mine almost complete . A lot of cleaning , a few replacement items and I'm almost ready to go .. So there isn't much invested in this H1. My 71 on the other hand has cost me a few bucks If I had another to do and it wasn't all there then a custom one would be put together . Ian

I asked the big guy if I could do 1 ebay thing and he said ya, don't let anyone see you. I figure 24 bucks delivered to the door for 4 nos is worth it due to time and money to order and PU.
Your spoiled Ian, or lucky I guess. You got a Gem for the price of a set of cheap tires. I shoulda took a picture, mine was a piece of shite. I've had it 3 years, tucked away in the attic. I hunted and have found all the parts it was missing(i hope). (air box, signals, all front brake parts, coils, coil mounts (had 3 ac delco huge car coils when I got it), battery box, new generator, rectifier, wiring harness and my latest the side cover grometts. I have to run chambers as I have only found 2 centre mufflers. I have been real busy on it, it was just a frame and rear wheel when Brawney was over last friday. I dropped in the engine last night, I think I'm in love. It is starting to take shape now. The B is my favorite as it is Uniquely different than any H1 sharing traits of the H2 of the day also it's about as far from being a Belly Button Bike like the Softail as you can get. You know the old saying Ian, if you ain't riding a 1B, then you ain't riding poop
I've near got the new paint wore off the frame from staring at it, better get some clothes on it before it's too late.
It won't be 100% correct but it will be mine so when I post a picture ignore the H1F shocks, the dragbars, chambers. I have even considered altering the decal due to the fact everyone wants a "B" these days ;D
I can't wait, it'll be like Christmas Morning that day I FO from work early to get it stickered

Holy Crap Don. I don't know if I would have the patients to rebuild a bike like that . Now I've done it on my british bikes BUt still nothing like what you did . lmao I hear you on the starring the paint off...Hahahahahahaha What shape are your 2 center mufflers in? The original on mine was under a bucket of acid or something as it was rotted right thru . I managed to get one from Ralph but the tip is damaged , it will get me by though . If yours are OK I'm interested in 1 . Hard to find a nice center muffler for a 1 year only item. I'm getting horny to get my triples out for a ride but more crap on the way ..GGeeez when will it end. Who did we Pi$$ O** Ian
