I finally got around to putting on the Wirges I bought from Scott last year. Left side went on without a hitch. The centre pipe mount looks like it was welded in the wrong spot, after a bit of bending, I got it to work OK. Anyone else find the mounts for Wirges aren't spot on? I need a couple more things from Reproduction Decals, and we should be good to go! I also bought a new Bridgestone Spitfire front tire. Should work OK. users.vianet.ca/avr1/Picture 001.jpg[/img] users.vianet.ca/avr1/Picture 002.jpg[/img] users.vianet.ca/avr1/Picture 003.jpg[/img]

Can't say for sure. I would suspect it's a solvent borne heat resistant paint. These were a NOS set, totally clean inside, but the exterior was probably refreshed at some point.

I used to run my '74 H1 with Wirges pipes and pods. It was my first triple and at that time I had never ridden a stock one to compare. I eventually bought a set of stock pipes and airbox. When I put them on and jetted it to stock specs it was a real dog in comparison but I'm sure my neighbours were happy.

My neighbour on one side is a little hard of hearing, so no problem there, ;D on the other side is a young family with 2 little kids, like me, who I've PO'd when firing up at 9pm, waking up their kids. A little insensitive by me but when you're done working on something, you just have to know if it worked. Might have to move out to the woods again if I get any more grief. Things probably won't be better with these pipes.

I've never had complaints about my triple...yet The only time there were issues with neighbours is when I decided to break in the cam on my mustang with open headers... ;D ;D ;D 15 minutes at 3k... buddy walked over at about 3 minutes complaining... sorry buddy, I'm not gonna wipe out a cam because you're irritated... just plug yer ears for about 12 minutes and have a good one eh...

I got complaints about my S3 last summer - here's the catch, the motor was locked up tighter than a medieval virgin. I had a piece of hardwood in the exhaust port and I was wailing on it with a 2 pound hammer. Neighbors thought they were living next door to a blacksmith. 'Course it was past midnight...I just couldn't stop.

my neighbour Clarence came running over last summer, said a couple neighbours were petitioning me and my bikes. He told them to leave me alone, said I was the best neighbour anyone could ask for. Told em they will need me one day when their car won't go or the lawnmower is acting up. I think I have fixed something for nearly everyone around me at one point. Got a laugh out of one guy, old Jerry, he brings me a lawn mower last fall, it had the rod right thru the engine case. After asking a few questions I found out he bought it brand new 17 years ago, a techumseh engine. I said thats normal but a little premature for them engines, how often did you change the oil, "never" was his reply. 17 years on the same oil, un freakin real. I painted up a briggs I had, thru it on. I charge little to those who can afford it and less to those who can't. Jerry ain't rich and he seems like a decent old fart so I shocked him 25 bucks with a 1 yr warranty.
I guess I do have an enemy

Thanks to S3Steve for the free H1 wheel this past summer, it was the best candidate out of my "correct" wheels to get a new tire. Needs a little more steel wool on a couple of spokes but it spins true. I bought 3 prybars from Princess Auto for $7, they're tire irons, and when I asked for some at the info desk, I got a blank stare...der....daa......I ended up rooting around and finding them myself. Changing tires really not so bad.... This H1D is coming back baby.......
