Test fit with an RD350 tank.. It really needs a longer tank. I was thinking of trying to build one, but it would probably be 25% bondo ;D

Horny looking for sure... I see what you're saying though as the tank seems to be a little small from the perspective of the pic anyway.
Still will be sweet regardless of which way you go ;D ;D

Looks great Dave, I'll still hang out with ya. However, I think you have a flat rear tire. ;D

That's my test tire.. A little duct tape and it will be good as new. I will be resurrecting my triple thread in the near future too.. it must be running this year.

Nice build!!! IMHO the tank sits to low anyways in comparison to the seat. Or can the seat sit down lower in the frame? Looks like the same seat I used... did it come off fleabay?

Yes, the tank is sitting too low, the rear mounting bracket is missing. The seat can go lower as well, I just straped it on for the picture, there are some brackets that need to be cut off under the seat. I bought that seat about 5 years ago at Mid Ohio for $30. The guy had lots of them.

Opinions please.. Do any of you see anything wrong with this? I still need to add some gusseting and the supports that tie the shock mount location to the pivot point. Does it look stupid? It looked good in my head, now I'm not so sure.

It doesn't look "stupid".
Dave, a few questions to ask yourself: 1. Will it break? 2. Is it better than it was? 3. Do I like it?
Aesthetics are so subjective, I wouldn't take anyone's opinion to heart except your own. I can't tell you how many times I've redone stuff because I didn't like how the idea turned out. It's just part of the path you have to take to get it where you want. I see you've cut the frame, is it going to be replaced with something else?

I am very confident it will not break when I am done.. plus I am having a professional weld it. I will see what he says. Those frame tubes bend inwards, I will replace them with ones that don't interfere with the swingarm. Is it better than it was? Probably not.
You like those bends eh Andrew.. thats my custom tube bender - 2 pieces of wood and me jumping in the middle.
I tried to get it bent into a "U" but the guy was telling me it won't work and why am I bothering... Asking me why I thought it was a good idea to use aluminum. He then told me to make the brace out of steel and weld it to the aluminum.... that's when I walked out.
I don't know Walms.. GIVR is very insightful.

If you want my opinion, I'd take Givr's opinion with a grain of salt... ;D It's of my opinion that no one care's about your opinion about my original opinion, I think we're headed for an opinion Möbius loop. ;D
