don't get ya home, but once you start cleaning, it's hard to keep from going overboard..... ;D Spigots are now welded, as well as a couple of stinger leaks I had. We're going for aesthetics this year people.

;D Avatar fixed. They've got the mop n glo applied. I'm going to rub and caress them after every ride. Wonder how long that'll last. I really should've got them this far before the Huron tour, just wanted them on the bike ASAFP. Don got me really wondering whether the "pinging" I heard was actually the pipe pushing back and forth in the spigot when gunning it. Incidently, there was only a couple minor vibration scuffs on the head pipe where it was "loosely" fit in the spigot. Not an issue any further. Thanks to Lou or TTnut (can't remember who) for suggesting scribing the pipe for the proper orientation for welding. Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees.

Yeah, it was a crying shame how rusty these got. Couldn't put up with it any longer. FYI, it's about 45 minutes per pipe on the wire wheel, then a couple more hours removing the pits with various sandpapers. Followed up with about an hour per pipe on the buffing wheel

I will probably get mine ceramic coated as I hate polishing and cleaning, I have my BMW pipes in right now getting coated so I will see if I like the finish.

If I did that to dad's triple when i was a kid he would have beat me with a belt, then made me scrub it off the pipe, then beat me some more, finish off with a fart to the face or something. Just kidding,
