I took advantage of the nice weather and mocked up the pipes today... All is good, other than the left pipe and the kick stand occupy the same space… I have 2 choices… route the pipes on the outside of the frame rails or move the kickstand.... Any thoughts?

Nice job! Are you going to race it or street ride? I would think inside is better for cornering clearance

If you put them outside, you could tuck 'em up a little higher, no? Looking good, what's the finish?

Only street riding at the moment. I like the tucked look better than having the pipes on the outside of the rails but I'm just a bit apprehensive about cutting up the bike. Routing the pipes outside gains ground clearance but you lose cornering clearance...
The pipes are only patterns made of .024" anodized aluminum my buddy had kicking around his shop. After I get the fit right, I'll burn them out of .035" mild steel. I'm not sure if I will paint them or plate them yet.

From this angle looks like I have my answer... inside frame rails on the left and outside frame rails on the right...

when I raced with Wirges pipes outside the frame on my KH400, I would touch down just below the front foot peg....both sides.....Wirges are very fat there.......nice to see the centre stand still be used....keep up the excellent work and update with pictures...Dan

That picture is a bit deceiving... The center pipe goes right through where the center stand is… it’s gotta go too.

Mine are little pea shooters compared to yours... 31.3mm ID at the flange, 1.5 degree taper on the header pipe.

I wish I could tell you that they are on the bike and the bike now does power wheelies in 3rd... Unfortunately (for my bike) I found a killer deal on a 302 for my Mustang, so I've put the pipes on hold until I get the Mustang finished.... too many projects and not enough time. In fact, I haven't even ridden the bike in a week!!! As I'm writing this, I realize I need to change some priorities...lol
