Thanks guys! I'm still trying to decide on a paint scheme and whether I'll go original or not. I'm open to ideas if anybody is interested in suggesting something.

Thanks, I had looked around for a better seat pan but you know the story on those. I found out that HV Cycle has a complete reproduction seat but I had already bought the seat cover, foam and chrome trim for this one. www.hvccycle.com/seats-kawasaki.html$500 seems like not a bad deal if the seat fits properly but I didn't have the nerve to be the first guy to buy one. He will sell the pan seperatly for $165 but it is fiberglass and I was unsure about the fit issues that might go with a repop. So I decided to try and fix my old on and I guess it was time well spent. I think it's going to turn out fine.

Great work John ;D ;D ... mine was average [meaning it was more rust than metal too] and it still turned out ok. I feel the pans are the worst thing to work on but you also see the biggest difference once done

Great job saving that pan, it personalizes your bike. Nice sounding triple BTW.

setting timing to 25 degrees btdc will help bottom end a titch the factory did not help it by fitting a tall first gear, made it feel faster than it really was to the test rider ;D those pipes respond well to -1T on front sprocket to a 14T, similar to how a hotter cam likes a shorter gear fwiw I set low speed mix screws to lean best idle just to balance them, then turn them in evenly to get best off idle response that is least boggy

I'm also trying to reinforce the areas that carry the most weight like my seat needs reinforcing at the rear. Strange, something is bending the very tail end of the seatpan down so it touches the fresh paint on my tail/trunk/cowel thing. I wonder what it could be? My backpack isn't that heavy..... ;D your bike looks really cool. I like your lift too, my buddy Sean was suppose to make me one just like it. MAybe I need to drop off more beer. Think it will help? hes a real procrastinator, but I'll tell you about that another time

I agree about the gearing, way too tall. I have ordered a 14 tooth sprocket. Once I get it road legal I'll mess around with the carbs and try to get the low rpm response better. It's been a long time since I played with jetting on a 2 stroke.
