Thanks guys, I'm having a lot of fun with this build. I like the barber shop theme on the tang! You must have eyes like mine. The only good thing about getting old is that when you eyes get weak you can't see all your wrinkles! After I passed the half century mark my eyes went to hell at an alarming rate. I don't know how I would function without progressive bi-focals. Getting old is definatly one of natures cruel jokes.

Thanks Mike, I've been following your thread on your fleet of triples. All I can say is WOW! What a great group of bikes. You mentioned coming north next summer, if you are coming through Alberta, let me know and we can go for a ride and refreshments.

Looking great John... can't wait to see it all finished ;D ;D Thanks North, me too! Got a few more details taken care of between turkey meals this weekend. Sorry for the crappy pics, I was using an old camera. Got some new exhaust studs installed with copper coat anti-seize compound. Got my exhaust flanges jet-hot coated black. And got the air filter assembly installed. I now know why so many guys use pod air filters, it's a bit of a juggling act to get the air filter installed. I also synced the carbs using a method from the resource site maintenance manual. I stuck a tie wrap in each carb throat with the tip resting under the slide. As the slide is raised the rear of the tie wrap goes down. I found this much easier than using my fingers in the carbs. Only 1 tie wrap shown in the pic but when all 3 are installed it is very easy to see if all 3 slides move at the same time.

I think the idea of that block off plate I removed is to force the exhaust through the baffle screen before the plate and out of the screen after the plate. Not very well thought out as the screens get plugged quickly on smokey 2 strokes. I just hope it's not ear splitting loud with that plate drilled out.

Good god John...that looks too much like work! ;D Personally I think you should just put in a order for a WTF cone kit from Walms... after hearing those pipes on numerous bikes I put in an order for 2 sets myself
