-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My somewhat modded H1 now appears to have a "constant speed" transmission starting at 4th gear on And yes, it is adjusted properly but is suffering from allot of use.
Upon doing a search at KTW, there are several options listed regarding friction plates (steel backed, fiber backed) Vesra, Kaw, Barnett (rated poorly), etc. There is also the option of using aluminum plates or steel plates between the friction plates. Lastly it seems barnett springs will over tax the stock cable/release (I'm running steel spline nylon outer). but a good option is the Z1000 springs.
What is the general opinion for the best combination and manufacturer of the above, and who is a good supplier?
I see Speedmoto offers a complete kit (including some sort of upgraded springs) on ebay for about $100.00
Opinions?
TIA, J

I've had nothing but good luck with Barnett clutches, all the bad stories are about 4 strokes being contaminated with clutch material, which as you know isn't an issue with our bikes. If you choose to use the stock steel plates, run a palm sander over them before you put them back in.. The stock actuator is prone to failure, that damn nylon worm will crack and make the clutch drag or slip..the Sy-Tech sounds like a good alternative.. I'd keep an eye on eBay for an NOS set of Fibre plates If I come across anything I'll let you know..

Thanks for the tip.
The main reported problem with the Barnett plates is they expand and drag when hot. I am presently running Barnett plates (now worn out) and only experienced this issue once when I broke the gear shift and had to launch several times in fifth gear.....Ouch!
