What the hell have I done??? I replaced the bearings on the head stock yesterday, now the ignition and kill switch don't work! I'm guessing a wire came unplugged or broke because I left the headlight bucket assembly hanging in the breeze while I replaced the bearings... I checked continuity in the wires from the kill switch and ignition to the plug inside the light bucket and they look ok. I would have thought if a wire was broken, the bike wouldn’t start…not the other way around.

Andrew...the KH400 is a strange bird...my race bike runs and has no battery and no wiring harness....the only wire I have from the kill switch is the black and white coloured wire to the CDI box..if that is connected then you can stop the bike...check the wires from the ignition switch...and look here kawtriple.com/mraxl/KH400wire.jpg for the wiring diagram......go have a beer...look at your new pipes.....then come back to it...good luck...Dan

What a pain in the butt! The broken wire ended up being in the bowels of the big wire harness that runs to the CDI unit... I have a better idea of the wiring for a kh400 now... knowledge I didn't really care to havec'est lavie.
