I like the "down the road 320 feet" line. That' a first gear burnout ;D. Keep 'em coming David -- I love this stuff.

It was the spring of 1969. I'd finished 2 yrs of college and got my first job in June 1968. I'd saved over the winter to buy a bike. I bought a used 1968 Kaw A7SS from a guy in Carthage, NY who had bought a new 1969 Mach III. I had a friend at work (Harley guy) who was a good friend of the guy I bought the bike from. He borrowed this guy's new Mach III for a ride. We'd be going down the road next to each other 50-60 MPH and he'd kick it down one gear and dial it on; I'd drop down two gears and dust him. He couldn't understand why it was such a dog compared to my bike. I just told him it wasn't a Harley, you have to know how it works. ... Dick J.
