Rebuilt crank, shimmed tranny, fresh bore and wiseco's. So much nicer putting together clean and/or new parts, I didn't get any grease on my shirt! Just a bit of coffee ;D

You got it Brawney I wish I could have been a 70's kawi engine assembler for a day. Don, the ports have a very fine chamfer, the top end is on loose so we can double check everything. Love it. ;D

hope you chamfered all the ports. looks real pretty I've been putting that off myself because to be honest, it's scaring me shitless... don't want to ruin JA's handy work.... Plenty of experience porting with a die grinder 15 odd years ago but usually get to work up to the finishing touches. I'll just need the right number of beers to get rid of the shakes...lol BTW Givr, Nice lookin motor bud, I like the size of those bores, it gave me movment... ;D

- Yes, it sure is nice to work on clean and new parts on the bench with a cup of java or a beer. Almost as fun as when the front wheel is in the air and your right wrist has it on the stop. Looks great! ... Dick J. - NY

Chamfer, I'd f#*K it up so no way I'd even try myself
Dan Douglas or Lou are good at that chamfering stuff. I assume that is all part of the boring/honing deal (60 a hole) at least it is at Douglas Engine Building or the Whitham guy I have used for sleds. Really the job isn't really done until chamf'd.
We're kind of lucky with the old steel liners and wisecos. SOme of you have delt with the new Nikasyl coated cylinders, no need to hone or chamfer, throw away the old and you buy new at like 500 or more a hole. Then add in some new teflon coated pistons for the final jab.

Don't forget to chanfer the "verticles". That sharp edge eats the rings, and greatly improves flow. Air does not like sharp corners.
